Yen Upson came to Gather with a foundation few property managers can match. Before joining in 2014, she led Kauai operations for a well-regarded Maui-based management company, overseeing the vacation rental and property management of more than 30 condominium units across the island. That breadth of hands-on experience gave her an instinct for the work that goes far beyond the basics.
What has always set Yen apart is the way she shows up for the people she works with. Her genuine passion for property management, combined with a warm and approachable nature, means that clients, guests, and partners don't just feel well-served — they feel genuinely cared for. Yen has called Kauai home for more than 20 years. When she's not managing properties, she's cheering on her two sons as they pursue their college educations, staying active with volleyball, tennis, and Pilates, and soaking up the island life she loves.

This place is wonderful. Beautiful modern home, quiet end of cul-de-sac, and SPECTACULAR views of the ocean/waves. Every room has great ocean views. Back patio is a great place to sit and enjoy the ocean. Yen was an exceptional host. She met us when we arrived, and walked the home with us, explaining amenities, and as well sent us several restaurant options. And she followed up with us a couple of times during our stay to make sure all was well. Cannot say enough about how well she took care of us. Highly recommend this home as the destination in Princeville!

The owners/property managers were the absolute best - quick to respond with any question and accommodated us so well. They let us have an early check-in when we had super tired kids and parents at the end of their ropes :) The kitchen was well appointed for family dinners and there were enough beach towels for every family member. (TWO washers and dryers also made sure everyone also had a dry bath or beach towel. Did I mention there were nine of us?). Can't say enough great things about this place.
